Merry Christmas Eve Eve! It was a fairly light reading week for me, but now that I’m officially on break for the holidays (huzzah!), I’m hoping to dive into that pile of TBRs on my bedside table. Still, even if this week was light, it was fun.

Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake: You know how in TV shows, they’ll often start with an action-packed pilot and then use the second episode to slow down and actually explore the world and characters? That’s kind how it is with Anna Dressed in Blood and its sequel Girl of Nightmares. And as someone who really enjoyed the almost non-stop action in the first book, I missed the action – and I missed Anna herself, who only has a small part in this one! Still, I enjoyed spending time with the Scooby Gang again, and Anna’s story was wrapped up in the best bittersweet package I could hope for.
A Child’s Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas: At just under 50 pages, this sweet little story is a quick read, filled with humor, nostalgia, and many lovely, detailed illustrations by Trina Schart Hyman. Shout out to Auntie Hannah, who knows how to have a good time!

“Troubleshooters” (books #10-12) by Suzanne Brockmann: Okay, as usual, I enjoyed all of these, but OH MY GOODNESS, Y’ALL, Force of Nature and All Through the Night gave me all the Jules-Robin ship feels! Seeing these two finally get their happy ending was a treat well worth the wait. All Through the Night is definitely going into my reread pile, so I can watch my boys be happy and adorable again and again. Thank you, Ms. Brockmann, for being unafraid to write this romance for the ages.
Stay tuned for some more goodies next week. Until then – take care, stay safe, and happy holidays, whatever you celebrate!
